Matted, not framed. Painted en plein air in Summerland, CA, driving home frm a paint out/retreat at Mission San Antonio further up north. My painting partner and I were exhausted from the long weekend but determined to get one more painting in. Daylight was disappearing fast and it was getting so chilly with the ocean just a few feet behind us, so that I could no longer hold my pastel sticks in my hand. Nevertheless, this was the most fun painting of the whole weekend. It had to be executed so fast, there was not time for send guessing or fiddling. Just get the main idea down on paper. I had a blast! AND..I kept from overworking it back in the studio!
